Lady Gaga Slays Super Bowl 50 Before Broncos Win

Every year before the biggest sports event of the year begins a singer takes center stage and performs the national anthem, The Star Spangled Banner, written during the War of 1812 in Baltimore, Maryland, by Francis Scott Key.

This year, multiple award-winning songstress Lady Gaga belted out the nation’s song in what many have said is the best ever rendition.  It truly is a powerful performance.  Hear it and decide for yourself:

And then there was THE game.

Unfortunately for the Carolina Panthers, the Denver Broncos hard-hitting defense came to the party.  The devastating charge was led by eventual SB50 MVP Von Miller, who started early by swatting the ball from Panther QB Cam Newton’s hands during only his sixth snap of the game.

It was at that particular time the Broncos, and the world, knew these Panthers were vulnerable.

Although Broncos QB Peyton Manning was not able to play at his previous NFL MVP and All Pro standards, he provided enough leadership and incentive to his team, both off and on the field, to come away with a 24-10 victory and make history as the only QB to win the Super Bowl playing for two different teams.

In all, MVP Miller had six tackles, 2 ½ sacks and two forced fumbles…both of which set up Denver’s lone two touchdowns.  The mighty Broncos defense tallied seven sacks against what had been the most prominent offense of the NFL season.  When all was said and done, the Denver squad (and many others) took to the field to start their well-deserved celebration.

Additional aspects of any Super Bowl include a generally fabulous half-time show, though this was unfortunately not up to par, and a slew of commercials hawking a wide variety of companies and products.  Personally, I feel the quality of product spots during SB50 was substandard.  Accordingly, I decided to end this post by sharing one promoting the upcoming X-Men Apocalypse movie, which I do plan to see.

Congratulations to Super Bowl 50 Champions – the Denver Broncos.  Well fought … well deserved.

Over For Now.
